(AU) Cafe2U wins prestigious award - coffee blend rated #1 in Australian mobile coffee industry

On Sunday 21st November 2010, Cafe2U was awarded a Bronze Medal in the prestigious CSR Golden Bean Roasting Competition. The CSR Golden Bean Roasting Competition, held in Port Macquarie NSW,  is the largest coffee roasting competition in the southern hemisphere and has been modelled on the success of the wine industry awards, where actual winemakers judge the quality of the products. All the coffees presented over the weekend were expertly prepared by some of the world best Barista’s, with World Barista Judge Justin Metcalf on hand to oversee the expert judging panel.

Organisers were overwhelmed by the number of entries in this year’s Golden Bean competition, eclipsing last year’s 730 entries, with more than 1000 coffee entries received from all over Australia and Asia. Blends could be registered in 8 separate categories, being espresso, milk based, Australian, filter, organic espresso, single origin espresso, decaf and coffee chains.  It was within the strongly contested coffee chain category that Cafe2U was awarded its Bronze Medal.  Cafe2U is the only mobile coffee chain in Australia ever to be recognised in the prestigious awards.

Derek Black, Managing Director of Cafe2U was delighted with the result and commented that  “Being a mobile business, Cafe2U needs to stand out in the eyes of the customer, this is why we have always been extremely passionate about the quality of our coffee blend.  This was the first time that the Cafe2U Blend has been entered into a roasting competition, so it was fantastic to receive such high recognition from industry experts.  This result reinforces our core belief that Cafe2U customers deserve only the highest quality ingredients in their cup”.

With a result like this, it is no wonder that Cafe2U is the largest mobile coffee franchise system in the world, with over 160 successful franchises already operating in Australia, the UK and the USA.
