What do you love about being on the Cafe2U team?

So many things- from getting up early in the morning and making my customers a nice warm Coffee/Hot Choc /Chai to start the day, to attending events and the intense pressure of a queue of thirsty customers and turning them into Cafe2U devotees. Cafe2U also has provided me with the forum to run my own business and make decisions for myself.

What did you do before Cafe2U?

I spent 28 years in the Paper Merchanting Industry for one employer, I started straight form school in the store and progressed through the business finally as Regional Manager with 10 staff.

What’s your favourite Cafe2U moment?

So many in such a relatively short period of time it is really difficult to pick one in particular. I can genuinely say I enjoy every moment of my Cafe2U Life.

What's your favourite Cafe2U drink?

I start the day with a Short Long Black and find myself drinking anything during the day that takes my fancy from Tea to Frappes

What do you do to be involved in your local community?

I am active in supporting fundraising with Schools in my area, recently I was involved in the Disability Games which was very rewarding.

These are processed into high quality Beans and yes I tried it mm will stick with C2U blend.

November 2010

John from Cafe2U Glenelg has recently become involved in helping HeartKids SA- part of a national charity organisation which is dedicated to children’s heart diseases. HeartKids SA is John's charity of choice for 2010 and 2011.

In November HeartKids held an event, ‘Katelyn’s Ride’, in honour of  young victims, Katelyn, who was born with a complex cardiac condition. She passed away in July 2009 at 10 years old. Her courage and determination inspired many and her amazing smile will never be forgotten.

John had the privilege of attending the ride and helping make the riders and other delegates some great coffees.  This was the second ride held and raised over $10 000- an amazing effort!

Later in November, HeartKids SA held their Christmas Party which John had the pleasure of attending- making complimentary coffees and hot chocolates for all those who attended with over 120 cups enjoyed!

Father Christmas was still the most popular visitor on the day, however many parents were very happy to see the distinctive red Cafe2U van rather than the man in the red suit!

For more information regarding HeartKids SA and Katelyn’s Ride you can visit the following websites:
