What do you love about being on the Cafe2U team?

I love being my own boss and being part of a global franchise, serving award-winning coffee! I also like filling a niche in the Adelaide market with our great mobile coffee system.

What did you do before Cafe2U?

I studied Accounting and Finance at university and worked in various roles including pharmaceutical sales, franchising systems and running telecommunications stores.

What's your favourite Cafe2U moment?

Attending the Mother's Day Classic, Parkinson's Unity Walk and the Foundation 21's Buddy Walk - raising much needed funds for groups in the commuity.

What's your favourite Cafe2U drink?

A Short Black to kick start my early mornings – and a Chai Latte Frappe on a warm day when I need to cool down from all the coffee making!

What do you do to be involved in your local community?

I have developed a good working relationship with local football and netball teams in my area, donating money back to the clubs. I also contribute to charities, both local and national - see below for more details.

Cafe2U Melrose Park was part of the Parkinson's Unity Walk event for the second year in a row. The event is a national event and was a successful day for the SA walk in Adelaide's Elder Park, with thousands raised. Special guests included Parkinson's SA Patron, the Governor, Mrs Scarce and the Hon Carmel Zolla who accompanied nearly 400 walkers around the beautiful Torrens precinct. Channel 7's Graeme Goodings once again was MC and The City of Adelaide Lions Club put on a great sausage sizzle. Cafe2U kept walkers hydrated with coffee and cold drinks as well as giving a helpful donation to this great cause.

Cafe2U Melrose Park attended the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic - the largest open water swim in South Australia.  When the sun finally decided to come out, we set up in the reserve where a range of activities were hosted including sausage sizzles and appearances from Home & Away stars.

For the first time, Cafe2U was part of the national Polo In the City series, set in Adelaide at the historic Victoria Park. Featuring international stars such as Sam Hopkinson and other Australian polo professionals, the park turned into a polo field. The event was open to those in the corporate marquees, as well as the general public. Cafe2U was side line to all the action!

Cafe2U Melrose Park was part of some of the Le Cornu Family Fun Days, which saw the Keswick store turn into a mini showground over 2 weekends in October. It was free admission for all and entertainment was provided by Peter Combe, the Griffini Circus Show and Groovy Chicks and Pirate Ships, with a whole host of roving entertainment and games. Also present at the event were sausage sizzles, coloured hairspray, cupcake decorating, life-sized games, gnome painting and Cafe2U coffee, of course!

The Tandanya Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Fair is a unique annual event, bringing together over 40 artists from across the state.

Visitors have the opportunity to meet Indigenous artists, see them at work, learn the stories behind the paintings and craftworks, and purchase art directly without gallery commission. There are also demonstrations of traditional crafts by elders, workshops in which adults and children can participate, and a full music and dance program all for free. The two days are a wonderful cultural celebration in the beautiful setting of the park adjoining Tandanya.

It is a great opportunity to learn more about one of the oldest living cultures in the world and to purchase a truly Australian, truly unique gift or artwork. A very family friendly event.

It was a free event and I had a successful 2 days, with great weather and great people.

They have booked me for another two events in January and February.
