What's New
2012
April
Cafe2U Port Adelaide's first event for April was the Weetbix kids triathlon at West Lakes. Another great day out. Here is a couple of pictures, again the calm after the storm.

March
Bills Motorcycles had a "Come and try " down in the city where people could come down and give their bike a good work out up the freeway. Included in the price for the riders was a coffee which is where Cafe2U Port Adelaide came in. A good day out.

The Holi Mela Event in the city that Cafe2U Port Adelaide participated in is a festival of colours and there sure was a lot of colours, including all over us. They had dry paint there and let's just say it was everywhere, except in the coffees of course!

The Nissan BRW was a great success, from what we remember anyway as our faces were looking at the coffee machine for the majority of the time, which was a great thing for Cafe2U Port Adelaide. This picture shows the calm after the storm.

Dragon Boaters 'love' their coffee. Cafe2U Port Adelaide went down to the Aquatic Reserve for the Dragon Boat State Championships over two days and what a great two days it was. Very busy but a lot of fun, we are thinking about taking up the sport ourselves.

February
Waugh in the West
Much to Travis's excitement, Cafe2U Port Adelaide was at the "Waugh in the West" event which was the opening of the St Clair Oval. It was an All Star Twenty20 match featuring people like Bernice Vince, Jarrod Patrenko, Tim Neilson oh, and stave WAugh! Cornesy and Rowie even braodcast their 5AA sports show from the event. Its was very exciting to see Travis make some great coffees and get a sneaky autograph from his childhood idol.

Funny Furry Farm Friday
Funny Sunny Friday has now turned in to Funny Furry Farm Friday, well maybe it was just a once-off. These boys are getting crazier and crazier ... what will they think of next?

January
Port Adelaide Cycling Club
We all know how much cyclists love their coffee so Cafe2U Port Adelaide have gone down to the last couple of time trial events for the Port Adelaide Cycling Club and fed them coffees after their strenuous 17km rides, that take place early on Sunday mornings. The coffee has been very well received!

2011
December
Aquapalooza
"For the fifth time in a row since its debut in 2006, AquaPalooza broke its own records in 2010 with an amazing total of approximately 15,600 boats and 90,000 people showing up to share in a grand celebration of the boating lifestyle. In the past five years, AquaPalooza has more than tripled in size!
Aquapalooza is Australia's biggest on-water music event and has been running for three years. It was held at the Marina Hindmarsh Island on the 30th of December and featured live entertainment including the Flaming Sambucas , Adelaide’s top DJs, games for children, giveaways and much more.
With a "float zone" instead of a "mosh pit", all who attended the event could either sit on the grassy banks that surround the floating stage or join in by floating in front of the stage to enjoy the music on offer. Adelaide based band "The Flaming Sambucas" was the main feature, along with a summer beachware fashion parade that took place on a catwalk over the water.
The marina was surrounded by people's boats where they could jump off the back into the water or simply relax in their boat and enjoy the atmosphere.
It was a great day out and a lot of fun had by all.

Hack & Halter Event
The day after the state Christmas dinner we had to get up at 4am and head to the hills for a Hack & Halter event. It was a great day but we certainly slept well that night!

Cafe2U South Australia Christmas Dinner
Cafe2U South Australia also had their Christmas dinner this month. The dinner was held at Kefi's Greek restaurant and a great night was had by all.

Trav's Birthday Celebrations
This month we celebrated Trav's birthday. We thought we would have a weekend off and go to the Barossa Valley in a limo and drink some beautiful South Australian wines. We have to say that it doesnt' get any better!

November
Animal Welfare League - Family Fun Day
On Sunday the 27th of November 2011, Travis and Amy went down to Glenelg’s Wigley Reserve for the Animal Welfare League Family Fun Day. This event hosts a variety of activities including stalls, a beach walk, demonstrations as well as training tips.

At this event, the Guinness Book of Records record for the most dogs in one area for a certain amount of time was broken.
Well done to all involved. There were certainly lots of ‘Woofocino’s’ going around on the day.
West Lakes Tennis Club
Adelaide produced another fine day for us when we went down to West Lakes Tennis Club's opening of their Club Rooms. It was a great day and we met lots of lovely people.

October 2011
Bad Hat Friday!
One of Travis's regular customers has a 'Bad Hat Friday' every Friday. Travis has now joined in by wearing a bad hat all day on Fridays.
So, if you are part of Trav's run, make sure you wear a bad hat on Fridays and you never know .... there might even be a reward in it for you!

Australian Masters Game
In between Amy playing her basketball games in the Masters (and getting a silver medal), Travis and Amy made coffees for the organisers and participants of the Half Marathon at the Australian Masters Games. It was a great event and the coffee was enjoyed by all. One of the organisers even managed to put 6 coffees in a bag and jump on his bike to deliver them to some of the organisers around the track.
We were made to feel very unfit as a competitor as old as 84 was running and a 70 year old competitor also completed the 25km track within 1 hour and 38 minutes, far out!!
Mr Ed as featured below, also enjoyed his 'Hoofacinno!'

Port Festival
After a late call up, Cafe2U Port Adelaide was delighted to be a part of the Port Festival. Travis had the van down at the Aviation museum and served up quite a few 'Smokey Lattes' in amongst the fumes and smoke released by some of the old aircraft engines that the museum proudly had on display and were testing throughout the day.

Le Cornu Family Fun Day
The Le Cornu Family Fun Day was a series of Family Fun Days that transformed Le Cornu's Keswick store into a mini showground over two weekends in October. It was a great day out and they provided lots of fun things which included the following: sausage sizzles, coloured hairspray, cupcake decorating, life-sized games and gnome painting.
Amy even found herslef singing along to the tunes of Peter Comb who played on the day. "Wash your face with bubblegum, clean your teeth with orange juice, fix the fence with sticky tape, fry an egg on a slippery dip, belly flop in a pizza." BELLY FLOP IN A PIZZA, EEewwwwww!

Opening of the Le Feve Skate Park
On a Friday afternoon in October, Travis went down to the opening of the Le Feve Skate Park. It was a great event and the kids looked like they were having a ball! The event took place during school holidays and therefore attracted quite a large number of kids and parents. The parents were quite surprised, but delighted to be able to enjoy a good coffee whilst their kids were testing out the new ramps and halfpipe. They even had face painting and a free sausage sizzle at the opening event.

September 2011
St Bede's Church
Cafe2U Port Adelaide was invited to the St Bede's Church for a celebration mass for an outgoing Female Reverend. During the service we didn't have a great deal to do, but once the service was over, it was non-stop! A great event but such a shame it was the end of an era for the female Reverend.

Pickles the Pig
Just a shot from Trav's daily run that we thought was worth showing. Even Pickles the Pig enjoyed a 'Pigacinno!'

Jodies Belly Billboard
Cafe2U Operators in Adelaide decided to get behind the refit of the Neo Natal Unit at the Flinders Medical Centre by bidding and winning the rights to appear on Jodie's Belly Billboard for a week. This fundraising event was hosted on Mix 102.3 FM.
Cafe2U was also advertised on air for the week and on top of the sponsorship amount, Cafe2U Operators collected extra funds which resulted in a total of $1800 being raised.
July 2011

Travis attended the Cafe2U Training Academy in July, 2011.

As of Monday 1st August Travis is out on the road and looking forward to meeting lots of friendly faces in and about the Port Adelaide area.
